Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming
Fine art print of 100 – Grizzly bears are amongst the top predators of any ecosystem and that holds true for inside the Grand Teton National Park. I had spent weeks searching for them but as with any wild animal they have their own schedule. On this evening I drove down a side road inside the park where bears are known to be found and sure enough, I spotted this large female. Blondie or bear 793. My own experience started off like most I tend to photograph, either alone or with just a few photographers nearby. Within 30 minutes the word had spread about her presence and groves of cars showed up causing a dreaded bear jam. I photographed her for a few more moments before leaving her alone. This photograph was taken before the crowd showed up as she quietly enjoyed the fresh mountain air. Photo © copyright by Derek Nielsen
