Elephants are massive animals. They are the single largest land animal left on earth. Deep social bonds are formed over the years with daughters staying with mothers for decades. Elephants are one of the most intelligent species to have ever walked this earth. So much of their intelligence, we still don’t understand. Countless times I have been blown away by their creativity and affection. After a long day out doing conservation photography work in the Serengeti and our final day after several in the bush, we were gifted this long glowing sunset. In the distance, I spotted this large family of elephants moving down the valley. Using some of the world’s best photography equipment (Canon R3 and RF 600mm f/4), I framed this image precisely to show the mother leading the future generation into the scene. This future generation the species depends on for its survival. 15% of the sale of this image and its Artist Proof will be donated to Dr. Gabby Wild and her foundation to continue to fight for wildlife survival in Africa. Once the editions and proof are both gone they will never be reproduced again. My hope is these images of wild animals will inspire your own desire to see them for yourself and to do what you can to help save them.
