Limited edition fine art print of 6 – In the fall of 2023, I was on assignment to shoot a documentary on the Southern Resident Killer Whales. Part of that trip was gathering behind-the-scenes footage and telling a deeper story about the region. We were staying at the Boat House Inn in Langley, right on the ocean. Each morning I would get up early to catch the sunrise over the sea. This time of year, the air temperature is only slightly cooler than the water, so steam rises off the surface, making for pretty awesome shots. Photo © copyright by Derek Nielsen.
