South Haven In My Heart,
Michigan 2023
On a freezing cold day in February, I decided to photograph their famous lighthouse in South Haven, Michigan. With wind chills well below -20 Fahrenheit, I took extra caution not to slip into the freezing waters for this shot. Waves crashed on the shore, making the entire surface a slick sheet of ice. One false move, and I would be gone. I carefully set up my tripod, counting the waves to help me predict when the big ones were coming. As the sun approached the horizon, the colors began to really become saturated with fiery reds and oranges. The gray clouds turned purple in the fading light while sea birds searched for their home for the night. When the moment was perfect, I snapped this shot. I am making it a one-of-one. This will be the only print ever sold of this delicate, beautiful moment in time. Just as the great painter before our time, I want this collector to have something truly unique.
