Life on the perimeter of Zanzibar is a different pace. A pace far from the hustle of traffic and city life. A life of fresh air, cool ocean breezes and warm tropical sun. Each morning I would get up to photograph sunrise. The local fishermen would begin their morning commutes inside the reefs edge out to their favorite fishing spots. Their sustainable way of catching only enough for their family and a little extra to trade other locals for goods made me so happy to see. Large scale fishing operations are depleting the oceans fish stock at inconceivable irreplaceable paces, it was so refreshing to see life still existing in a slower sustainable way.
