I still think about how difficult this shot was to capture. While traveling to Borneo I had a list of animals I’d hope to photograph. High on the list was the elusive Western Tarsier. This nocturnal mammal is one of the more adorable yet bizarre looking in Borneo’s forest. With no tripod, no flash and no guide, I managed to light him up with a headlamp use a really fast shutter speed and wide-open aperture. As with the rest of Borneo the Western Tarsier’s habitat is being decimated by the palm oil industry.
