Chicago 2023
On a cold wintery day in Chicago, I decided to head out to Humboldt Park to search for wildlife. I recently purchased a new telephoto lens and wanted to see what I could find. I guess I’d find a few common birds, some squirrels, and hopefully something unique. I never expected to come across one of North America’s most attractive waterfowl. Until that day, I had never seen a wood duck in the wild and certainly didn’t expect to find one in a busy urban setting like Chicago. Wood ducks are rather timid compared to their fellow duck, the Mallard. Not wanting to irritate it, I composed a few images and left him alone to enjoy the day. Limited edition fine art print of 6.
